Side effects from Sedation?

My horse was sedated for clipping on Tuesday, and since Wednesday I have noticed that his veins appear to be more visible in his hind legs, and yesterday there was a slight swelling on the front of one hind legs just above the hock there was a slight swelling (possibly fluid). Is this coincidence or likely to be a reaction to the Sedative?

Most likely you can see the veins more as there is no hair covering them up.

He possibly could have reacted to the lubricant used on the clippers but more likely its just coincidence.
