Side loading trailers

Are these any different to rear loading as to how to load? I'm hiring this and haven't used a side loader before.

Well at least that one looks lower loading a friend of mine had a large one with high ramp and you have to sort of turn the horse at the top. I personally do not like them and was glad I wasn't putting JB in one as I think I would still be trying and that was last year.

Most people lead off the near side. But with a rear facing, side loader youve got to turn them the opposite way, so if you lead on the off side, you'll save a lot of confusion for the horse, and you'll be the right side to tie up etc : )
I used to get this wrong regularly, and the horse got so muddled

We used to own one very simmilar (a hunter marlborough)
It was fab, any horse would load into it. They settle really well rear facing.
We only sold it, as it didnt have the payload for our 2 neds. We have a 7.5 ton now, but I cant and wouldnt want to drive it. If I had the money I'd get a little 2 horse again, so I could poodle my girl out myself : )
 
Ah glad to hear that, he's a bit of a bad loader anyways, not scared, just doesn't like them. So hoping the more open approach will be better. Fingers crossed

I have one of these & love it. My previous box had a back ramp & horse stood herring bone so went up ramp & turned a little to left to stand. With the Renault master he couldn't understand that he had to enter & turn right to stand correctly. he got very worried so for a while I had to let him enter & turn a full circle round to the left inside the box. Finally it dawned on him that all he needed to do was walk in & turn right. he travels really well in it & virtually loads himself now.
