Hello all...

Having been converted (although only a couple of weeks ago) to side saddle by a friend, I am completely hooked and have now completed two days hunting, and have even survived jumping rails (somehow!).

Unfortunately, although having now been able to borrow a habit from a friend, I am on a desperate search for a side saddle, ideally (due to tiny finances!) to hire / loan / borrowbegsteal!

I would only need it from as soon as possible until the 18th Feb 2012 (as this is when the meet is) - after that I have the whole summer to save up for one of my own for next season.

Does anyone know anyone out there that could help? All I seem to be able to find are saddles for sale for buckets of money!

Thank you.

Are you on FB??? Join Sidesaddle Riders, there are knowledgable people on there from all over the world, who will be able to help, although I warn you even to hire them is extremely expensive. I know someone a few weeks ago was looking to hire one for a period and it wasnt cheap the figure she was quoted. Also because there are so few of tem around as compared to astride saddles getting one to fit your horse will bemore difficult. Not sure if you could get a two week loan (just noticed what time period you want it for). Any more help I can give PM or contact SideSaddle Association.

Depending on where you are in the country, Liz Turner hires out saddles on a 6 or 12 monthly basis and occasionally has some for sale. She's a very experienced lady and I've hired off her previously - you might have trouble getting someone out in the time scale that you need though! I can send you some numbers if you PM me :)
