Well today i went for my third side saddle lesson so i have now ridden side saddle for a whole 90 minutes lol
The fist lesson was kind of a taster session, worked a bit on position then through all 3 paces.
Second lesson we worked more in trot, mainly in a slower trot and then asking more of it.
Today we worked far more on getting the horse forward through the transitions and doing more of a working trot, she is very pingy.
It was really hard work, definately felt a difference having spent 4 out of 7 days driving.
Instructor is fab, going to carry on with lessons over the winter, had decided to do lesson about ss and ordinary flat but there is a side saddle instructor coming to a local yard the end of November so will keep up my side saddle lessons so i don't embarass myself. I'm very lucky that a lovely friend is going to lend me her horse who is not nearly as bouncy lol
Did manage to get some photos today, please be nice i'm totally aware of all the work i have to do on my position lol have never posted pics of me riding on here before.

Well done!!! Out of all the photos, I only spotted one where your right shoulder was not back but I'm sure you felt this when you were doing it as it would have felt like you were cork-screwing to the left and about to come off (I guarantee you felt this as you didn't do it for the rest of the photos!! :D ) Don't worry, your right shoulder back, it gets easier but it's something all side saddle riders no matter how experienced have to remember!! Try riding on the off-side, then it's left shoulder back! :p

Barring that one photo of the dodgey shoulder, your position isn't actually that bad considering you've only had 3 lessons (quite jealous actually!) so I think you should give yourself a well deserved pat on the back!! :)

I bet you've been saddle shopping too, go on, admit it!

Wow,well done. Are you going to keep posting? I'd be very interested in your progress, especially as my eldest daughter would love to learn how to ride side saddle.

Lol thank you SSG, i have been keeping an eye on ebay for saddles but hopefully friend may have one that fits, its away getting some work done then will give it a try, only problem is pony is very short backed, he takes a 16inch saddle, so not sure how many will be about.
I have however already bought a bowler, cane and spurs, i did buy a habit as well but its just a little to tight unfortunately.
Oh and there were other pics i just picked the best ones lol
I will keep posting Mirage, i'm really enjoying the experience.
