Decided to treat me and my lovely lad out to a well deserved hack today after a hard week of schooling, as usual all drivers were patient passing etc (he is a bit of a road hogger and enjoys drifting into the middle of the road :o)

However on our way back we encountered a young lad on a moped with an L sticker. Even when he was about 50M away he was heading down at 40MPH down the lane! My poor lad stood still in his tracks, tensed and gingerly started walking forward and he was eventually infront of this arrogant driver, and this is where the fun starts.

Poor lad was absolutely terrified of this moped, he froze and was shaking. I was shouting at this lad to turn his engine off however he was just revving and in the end he attempted to drive past (giving me the finger on the way) and my lad bolted to the side into his moped, reared and almost fell down a ditch. Even after his episode this lad was still revving his engine and in the end he just sped past us leaving my boy in a state and a huge gash on his quarters :(

He is quite shaken as on the rest of the way home he was very jumpy and on edge. He is such a sweetheart to hack out too it's a shame an arrogant driver wouldn't turn his engine off. Me or him could of easily been killed as my lad almost knocked him clean off his moped!

Just hope his confidence isn't knocked for good and it's just a bad day.
Sigh :(

SO if he was hit by the moped to cause the gash, then surely the moped rider didn't stop after the accident. I hope you reported it to the police that he didn'ts stop ( before the moped rider reports you.... and he tries to claim no end of damage your horse probably didn't do to his bike)

Didn't catch a number plate, was far too concerned on calming my lad down as he was hysterical.
He lept to the side and swung his quarters around then backed up and started rearing and thrashing about. Leaving the moped rider infront of us and still needing to pass us.
Been told he regularly rides up the road past the farm and few times a week so I'm sure keeping an eye out and so are people in the area.

Many years ago I had a motorbike rider actively chase me! I was on a spooky new forest x arab mare, and had taken her off to the side of the track so that he could go past easily - instead he came off the track, up her bum, chased her at a gallop for over a mile, and then as a parting gesture said that horses shouldn't be allowed on off road tracks!!!

Please forgive me for not liking motorbikes ever since! I know he is probably the exception to the rule but what a k n o b - can feel my blood boiling just recalling the memory!!!
