They're STILL finding ways to p:ss me right off!!
I still go there every day to ride Antifaz and give lessons. I got there yesterday afternoon to teach and found someone had put 1 strand of electric tape across a third of the school (as far as the post and rail goes on the sides) so they could turn their horse out AND they'd used 2 fence wings (well, not 'wings' exactly, just upright thingies.. I forget what they're called... anyone?) to do it.
Several things p:ss me off about this; Aside from the folly of turning a young, ENTIRE, reckless horse known for trashing everying, out all day in a sandschool where grass is growing through the sand, the person who did it is the one who complained about me turning out PF with the other horses (after all, she's got a stable, why does she need turning out, right?) SO, I made her her own turnout from my OWN electric tape and posts where she was in absolutely nobody's way. They complained about that too.
If he was going to close the school off, why didn't he get his own blinking posts instead of disassembling my jump? And why didn't he use his own posts to close it off AT THE END so the useful area of the school wasn't reduced by 30%.
Eh? Eh?
As I don't have a horse there any more, I went to Antifaz's owner and complained. If I get to the yard this morning and am told I can't ride in the school because a horse is turned out in it, I shall go apesh:t

In case you're wondering where the YM is... he's been kicked out of his house after 35 years of marriage for screwing around and is never seen at yard.
I am SO exasperated!!!

eek!

Your life is like a soap opera PF!

Would they not consider moving Antifaz?

Also have you given any more thought to taking him on?

Finally, how is YOUR new yard now?

Oh no - cant say I am a huge lover of yards and have my horses in their own field.
Its a pain when people do things like this. Do you have a rota of who can use the school and at what times...? We used to have this and it worked quite well.
Again Im not really one to comment as I moved away from yards due to this sort of thing and noisey people....
I would not have been amused either....

I would LOVE to have Antifaz at new yard. BUT it is ridiculously expensive (hence considering going back to old yard, which is ridiculously cheap!) although I've now settled in much more and grooms and I understand each other so I'm more comfortable generally. If it were cheaper I'd LOVE the place.
I certainly CANNOT afford to keep Antifaz whilst PF is at current yard. I might look into the Jockey Club which is miles away but might be worth it for 2 horses and would save me loads of money in transport as most comps are held there!!

I'm virtually the only person who uses the school so there really hasn't been a need for a rota.
The eejit who has done this doesn't use it anyway. EVER. He doesn't even ride his blinking horse who is FAR too green and lively for him. If he wants the horse to live out, he should take him to a 'campo'.
I do HATE his guts though for several VERY good reasons

Hmm well if you can keep both of them at a different price for about the same price it costs you to keep PF at new yard, I would seriously look into it. Espec if most of your comps are there.

Its a wonder your old yard has anyone thre, it sounds terrible!

Well, hardly anyone actually goes with any regularity to old yard except for an hour or so ride at the weekend... and as with most things that go bad, it's one or two people who just seem to not give a sh:t about anyone else. Now with YM away it's just got worse!
Jockey Club would be a bit more expensive than my yard for 2 horses... I'd have to be a bit more secure in my income i think! But certainly worth considering

I really hope you get something sorted PF, its not fair you having to go through all this, all you want is a decent yard and facilities.

I dont know what its like over there, but is there no way you could rent a little yard yourself, or do you need full livery?

I would LOVE a yard of my own... unfortunately none are to be found and even if I did find one I'd have to employ someone to be there overnight (or be there myself) as horses get stolen ALOT around here (for meat!
