My poor old boy. I’m so sad for him today. New horse went into our field. The two mares like him. He’s an 18 year old coloured cob. My boy HATES him. He’s not grazing he’s fiercely staring at him. He’s upset if he goes near ‘his’ mares.
New horse’s owner just put in the chat she was chased by him tonight when she tried to get her boy out. Mines the one struggling but now he’s got a rep!

IME two geldings in with mares doesn’t work well. Is there any way they can be split into two and two and both be on their own with a mare? Or the new horse just be removed? It could quite easily end up with the geldings getting into a disagreement. Mares make them behave in a strange way - they might even be fine with each other if it was just the two of them.

I so so want them to be two and two. But sadly it’s not how it works at this field. All very frustrating and difficult!
