We had a small setback today - Henry nearly lost his dummy on our walk as he got distracted halfway through retrieving it and abandoned it in favour of a stinky ditch

In the end I had to get it myself, as I kept calling him back, pointing in the right direction and telling him to get it, and he kept going 'OK boss!' and leaping back into the ditch with great enthusiasm ('Is this what you meant boss?') Eventually I ended up putting his lead on and getting him to literally pass me the dummy from about 6 inches away by waving it about and playing with it - ho hum...

Then we have come home and done some more practice with the dummy and Ducky, and of course he has been full of interest and enthusiasm and begging for more

The dummy then went away, at which point he carried Ducky onto the sofa and is now fast asleep cuddling it (naaaaw).

There's nothing else for it, he'll have to be a working dog only in the living room!

that ever so common place for beating and shooting to go on!!!!!!

hehe that could be a fun conversation to have! "yes dear these men are paying........... no not for the repairs for the EXPERIENCE!!! and yes Henry is doing a spanking job thank you for asking!
grin.gif
hehe"

do it!!!!!!!

im sure he'll get there, maybe the ditch smelt THAT good that only a dog could appreciate it! (or there was a dead bird somewhere in the bottom of it and he was actually doing a v thorough job! ew!)

At least Henry only has setbacks, we had non-existent recall!

Try clipping it to a line to keep it 'active' and 'remote' - mine are the same, if it is not moving, no fun - and to keep it away from your hand - B identifies the toy with me, if I am not holding it and keeping it active, he gets bored.
If I knew then what I know now
