We had a small setback today - Henry nearly lost his dummy on our walk as he got distracted halfway through retrieving it and abandoned it in favour of a stinky ditch
In the end I had to get it myself, as I kept calling him back, pointing in the right direction and telling him to get it, and he kept going 'OK boss!' and leaping back into the ditch with great enthusiasm ('Is this what you meant boss?') Eventually I ended up putting his lead on and getting him to literally pass me the dummy from about 6 inches away by waving it about and playing with it - ho hum...
Then we have come home and done some more practice with the dummy and Ducky, and of course he has been full of interest and enthusiasm and begging for more
The dummy then went away, at which point he carried Ducky onto the sofa and is now fast asleep cuddling it (naaaaw).
There's nothing else for it, he'll have to be a working dog only in the living room!
