Signs of laminitis after shoeing

Hi all, I’m new here but have a question I’d love some feedback on. I had my 9yo gelding shod today and shortly after shoeing I noticed him rocking back on his heels and walking backwards, like he was suddenly laminitic. There was no sign of lamenes when I got him walking out although he was a bit sluggish. Trotting on a circle (both reins) showed no signs off lameness either. He is fit and in great condition (not overweight at all) and on dry (not green) pasture.

There was nothing to indicate lameness before shoeing, I rode him the day before and he was completely normal.

I’ve got the vet on standby and we’re watching him overnight but has anyone experienced anything similar after shoeing or in general?

my friend recently had her horse shod & went lame on one foot - turned out nails too close to sensitive area - farrier came back out took shoe off & did again horse was then fine.
if he's still doing it I would get your farrier back immediately

Happened to my friend, you have to treat as if laminitic, box rest, deep bed, soak hay, took months as farrier had trimmed too short.
