Hi folks I've had a fitting for a Silhouette Saddle today. It's a dressage saddle and seems very reasonably priced - can anyone give me any feedback on the saddles, I've never come across the name before.

It doesn't hug my leg like I was hoping it would though :(

I've had a Silhouette straight cut GP saddle for about 8 years. It's comfortable, been well used but looks really good for its age and compared to others I got around the same time.

I had one that was ok but did discolour quite quickly and I didn't think it was the best quality. In all honesty I would buy another brand or 2nd hand more expense brand than another one of those.

I have an ideal roella which is the comfiest saddle I have ridden in and I've ridden in a few.

I've got a general purpose one for my Welsh section D and have to say it's stood the test of time, and i,ve had no problems with it.Aslo got it fitted second hand so not sure how old it is but looks great.

Yes I've got one, it's a GP but a little more forward cut.
Very comfy once I got used to it, however have only used it a handful of times as my poor boy was PTS before we had a proper chance to break it in.
Was pretty pleased with it up until then.

I got a new Silhouette 3 months ago, is very comfy and a good fit for the boy but have to say not impressed at all with the wear on the flaps.

I'd seen second hand silhouettes still looking like new which is what made me decide to go with it as I wasn't familiar with the brand either but either I got a dud or the quality of the leather used has changed :( I hate complaining but think I'm going to have to contact Silhouette about this one, my beloved Ideal with 15 years heavy use under it's belt has less wear

I saw Silhouette at Beta one year many years ago and their range of saddles were good, they did a nice wide one for cobs that I was interested in and you didn't have to buy 6 or more minimum order as with alot of other suppliers at that time!
Their quality wasn't the best I have seen but they were a good basic, sound saddle with no frills, good prices (trade) too.
I fitted a few over the years, they fit wide cob types well from my own experience, Oz

I think it's a case of 'you get what you pay for'. I wasn't impressed by the quality when I looked at them and chose to spend the same amount of money (£700ish if I remember correctly) on a second hand Albion K2.
