i despair.
my friend has a 14`1 cob who she told me weights 101 stone!!!!!!!!!!
he has just been diagnosed with arthitis of the hock.
he is in a good paddock 12 hours and in a bare one for 12 hours at night,he gets very little exercise.

tonight i went past and he was in the bare one as usual with.............a HAYNET hanging in the tree!

He shouldn't even go in the good paddock. Bare only with small amount of hay. Just so he gets enough fibre through his gut.
Its not only the arthitis that needs worring about but laminitis, colic etc. My old mare died from a fatty lump strangling her intestines as her owner before me kept her fat for too long.

i wonder that the vet has not commented on it.
(unless she is not saying)
he had an op for a lump not long ago and was weighted at the equine hospital.

i have dropped hints by saying how little mine have and how i have to keep my eye on them so as to not have them get fat.
i think she will kill him with `kindness`
