I'm riding a clients horse at the moment who has a treeless saddle, it's a good make I think it's a barefoot.

It has the proper pad to go with it and horse seems to like it. However, if I move my bum over slightly one way or the other I can ever so slightly feel the horses spine through the saddle.

There is definitely no pressure on spine while riding with bum where it should be, but does this saddle need more padding for this particular horse?

Also don't think it should compress such that you feel the sping when you move slightly off centre. Look at it with someone sat on it, shims may need to be thicker.

Thanks I thought so.

Have heard good things about the suber pads, can these be used under barefoot saddles?
