Whilst at Olympia, we watched the Show Jumping and it was amazing... I really admire the riders and of course the horses!!

One thing I did notice is almost all the riders were "showing" the horses some of the problem/scary fences. Now I always thought this was not allowed, and remember watching something on H&C TV with a show jumper, who said its not allowed, but you could just walk past "the scary fence" to make it not so obvious that you were showing your horse the fence.

These riders were blataintly (sp) walking them up to the fence, taking the line of approach, stopping in front of the fence for a few seconds and then walking away, to then start the course.

I have no problem what so ever, I was just intrigued, thats all!

I think that rule is void now but not 100%
I remmeber when it was still in place though and one person used to walk up to the fence with his horse and go "nope this jump isn't on the cups right" knowing full well the jump was perfect. There were so many ways around it and tbh was a bit of a silly rule :p
