Got a call this morning from a fellow livery (she us turnin out Ruby this weekend and I am doing hers next weekend) to say Ruby during the night had some how managed to get 2 rugs over her head!! She has 2 rugs that hang in her stable, she has always had rugs in her stable, I have never had an issue with them! She had gotten the fillet string of both stuck around the neck and then trod on one of the rugs which meant she couldn't move. How she did it I will never know. Luckily it doesn't look like she panicked. No dried sweat or cuts luckily. She must have just stood and waited to be rescued. Silly Pony!!

Glad she is OK and that she didn't panic :) I saw a similar thing at a show recently...I was walking along the line of temporary stables admiring all the lovely competition horses when I spotted one with its head stuck in a rug that had been thrown over the side of the stable. Same as yours, he had put his head throught the fillet string and somehow managed to get tangled so that his head was covered by the rug and it was caught on the stable wall by the surcingles. Poor boy must have been there a while because big pile of poo behind him and he was frozen in fear! He was v relieved when my friend and I managed to climb up and release his head, has totally put me off leaving rugs lying over stable doors or in the stable!
