What hard feeds are there available that are cheap, good for weight gain/maintenance and not heating? Currently feeding Ride and Relax but would like to replace that with something cheaper if possible. Fed with Alpha A, carrots/apples and oil in the winter.

Thank you!

Show mix by balanced horse feeds. Its very reasonable and I used for my emaciated TB mare who had been overworked out on loan and within 2-3 weeks she looked fab. I've used it ever since and it doesn't 'fizz' them up.

I would echo alfabeet and grass nuts very cheap and nutritous. Linseed if you buy the grains and soak and cook yourself works out extremely cheap as well, and possibly the best oil you can feed your horse. You can buy it ready prepared but i don't know how much that costs.
