Simple snaffle according to BD rulebook

I don't have a copy of the BD rulebook but am doing a BRC Style Jumping Class next weekend and it states it must be ridden in a simple snaffle (as stated in BD rulebook).

Would a hanging french link snaffle be included in this, or would I have to use a straightforward french link snaffle?

A french link bit is fine, mine are all ridden in french links and all do BD
