Does anyone use the simple system feeds? I have emailed them but just wondered if anyone has any experience of them please and if you get it delivered?
Thanks

I used them a few years ago on recommendation from a friend. Alas my (non-fussy eater) horse turned his nose up at the cubes (think they were called Lucie Nuts or something similar), and wasn't keen on the linseed meal, so we went back to Spillers high fibre cubes and sunflower oil. I'm not sure about delivery, as there was a stockist quite near to me.

I used it for years, all the horses loved it, and did very very well on it. I used Lucinuts, Lucibixs, micronised linseed, pura beet and brewers yeast. All were sane, calm and in lovely condition. I added in red grass nuts for high energy, and for weight gain on certain horses and that worked brilliantly without sending them mad. At one time I had 14 horses on it, 4 of my own and 10 liveries. Made for a very calm yard of horses :) Mine was all delivered by a local (ish) stockist and I had deliveries every month.

I use it, and have it delivered direct. A friend and I both order enough at a time for free delivery.

Both of us are very happy with it. My horse is on red grass nuts and chaff with linseed, and I love being able to 'target feed' the nuts for energy as and when needed. His coat is brilliant, as are his feet!

Thanks, I might give it a go, my ex pointer has just had surgery for kissing spine and will start rehab and groundwork soon so I want something that won't fizz him up at all, but put a little condition on, he's pretty good and likes his food just not sure which would be most suited to him

I don't use any of their Lucerne products but I use the meadowbrix, timothy chop, grass nuts and beet as hay replacers in winter for my old mare. I've just started giving her their joint supplement as well and she's doing really well on it. My local feed shop stock their products so I usually get deliveries from them, but I have ordered direct from SS before with no problems.

I've been using it for a while, I can get this locally now, but before that there was a distributor that would deliver.

I have ordered from them directly some years ago, and delivery was quite quick.

I use their timothy chop and used to use the blue grass nuts, and had them delivered as there's no supplier near me. Delivery was really quick - I think the bags arrived about 2 days after I ordered!

My colt was on SS over winter (my yard are stockists) and he did really well - stayed at a good weight and no sudden growth spurts :)

I used it a good few years ago, there was no local stockist (still isn't) so I paid for a delivery. This made it quite expensive and awkward - all delivered to my house (nobody on DIY yard during daytime) then I had to lug it all to the yard. Only had one delivery because of this. It was nice feed though and my horses did seem to enjoy it - even my fussy TB.

Back then, cereal and molasses-free feed was a new thing. Only SS did it really. Nowadays other companies have latched on and it's easier to buy this kind of feed from any feed merchant... so i do!

If SS had a local supplier to me, I would use it again though.

They have recommended the lucie nuts pure Lucerne chop and flexi balance, I'm astounded at the price of flexi balance £57 for 10kg!

I looked at this before and then looked at the ingredients: 'Cooked Linseed Meal, Seaweed Meal, Rosehips, Brewers Yeast' and reckon it must be cheaper to buy those separately! I use linseed but often get it elsewhere cheaper, and the rest are easily obtained fairly cheaply, too!

I've used the grass nuts for years, used to use the luci nuts but when I took mine barefoot we discovered alfalfa made them footy. I have 3 barefoot TB's in work and they are the best thing I've found to maintain weight, energy levels and not fizz them up.

Currently feeding blue nuts, and swap to red nuts after the spring grass has calmed down and feed them all through winter.

I have tried most of the feeding fads that have come along over the years and I always end up back on SS grass nuts!

Their lucerne products turned my friend's warmblood dangerous!

I wasn't happy with the results for my barefoot mare either. It made her footy, very lack lustre, poor coat and just not right. Weird but true. The finish for me was when I asked them for advice as mare was footy on the lucerne products and they wouldn't listen or accept that and jist kept recommending the luciebix!!

I've just started using it for my TB (a couple of months in) and I have to say he looks amazing. He's on Top Nosh, Total Eclipse, grass nuts (Northern Crop Driers rather than Simple System as they are cheaper and I can get them from just down the road) and the alfalfa chop. I have mine delivered and as it's just me using it I buy in bulk so I have a good supply in stock. I also gulped at the cost of 10kg of Total Eclipse (about £57), but when I worked it out it was about 120 days supply for my horse so was really good value compared to buying the equivalent supply of the 5kg bags. My horse tends to do much better on good quality grass, and he's just gone down to the summer paddocks which may have something to do with the way he's looking. The winter will be a true test, but having said that I'm please with him so far!

I used to use it but can no longer get it delivered for a reasonable price so I am looking to change (probably onto pure feed, although I am also considering top spec). However if I could get it local or even delivered for a reasonable price I would be sticking with S'S.

I've used it, I loved the idea but the alfalfa sent one of mine crazy and the other itchy. I found the recommended products were basically the same stuff in different formats but was led to believe that they were different and all necessary, the total diet worked out very expensive too

I'm more convinced to leave this one alone! Not doubting its quality it seems expensive, not the easiest to get hold of and I'm not sure about an Alfa based diet I think I'll try the pure feeds route
