Hi There,

Does anyone else the above feed? Spring grass is all that puts weight on my elderly mare just wondered if people have used these and done the same?

Or used "Top Nosh" from simple systems too?

Thanks

I use blue bag (summer grass) nuts. Horse LOVES them and I don't need to feed loads to keep his weight steady x

I've fed Top Nosh to my ulcer prone Sec D. Usually a good doer but can tend to drop a little during the winter. He just used to get it when he worked. I didn't feed loads but think it's supposed to be good for slow weight gain as a top up.

As it's basically just alfalfa and linseed though, I now just add extra micronised linseed to the greengold alfalfa that he already gets.

I use TopNosh on my TB who tends to drop weight in the winter. I started it last spring and usually end up feeding three feeds over the winter to try and keep weight on him and even then really struggled. Since feeding TopNosh I have stayed with two feeds and he looks fantastic. Several people have commented on how well he looks, even mid-winter when he would usually look like a coat rack regardless of how much I was feeding him. Highly recommended and more cost effective that anything I have fed in the past.

I feed Red Bag Grass Nuts, more for the energy than the weight gain.

I wouldn't bother with the Top Nosh, just add plenty of micronised linseed to the grass nuts :)
