Simple Systems V Alfa beet, which is better VFM

Got a nasty shock earlier when picking up some bags of SS. Prices have gone up, not just by a few pence neither. We're talking a pound a bag here and about £7 on the price of Total Eclipse

So peeps......Those using Alfabeet, how much are you paying for a £20kg bag? Been on the site and although it says it's just unmolassed beet and alfafa, it doesn't say in what ratio but sounds much easier to feed and quicker soaking by far.

If you've tried both would be interested to see how AB compares in putting/keeping condition on.

I pay 7.25 for a bag of AlfaBeet (but another local feedmerchant was charging me 8 pounds a bag

). Not used SS, so can't compare with that, but definitely helps me keep weight on my veterans.

I pay £6.90 but i think its a 15kg bag, i havnt used SS so couldnt compare but zak loves it and has been fairly good for weight gain ad defo no fizziness

I use it too and it is about £7 for a bag. I feed it with alfa a oil and alfalfa pellets (all Dengie) and although my TB has lost a bit of condition in the last week or se it has kep his weight on him much better than last year and most days he has been calm and rideable

I think alfa beet is 50:50- I remember looking it up.

I'm feeding spedibeet and dengie alfalfa nuts, I like doing it that way as I can adjust it as I want. Not sure about prices though.

Simple Systems defo- I was told that Dengi add colouring to the Alfalfa products so us mere humans prefered the look of them and so though they were 'better'. Lucie Bix are pure Lucerene with no colouring etc hence their almost poo like appearance lol.

God knows who they asked in their market research on that one then, as IMO and that of a few other peeps I know, Alpha-beet looks like cow pats and does look appetising!!

The Dengie website states the ingredients of Alfa-Beet as: alfalfa, sugar beet.

It is the Alfa A range that has other 'stuff' added to it.
