Simple systems vs top spec joint

I have a 17.2 Irish Draught who is currently being fed thunderbrooks herbal chaff and top spec joint. He is on daily Bute for joint issue hence the balancer , but I’m considering and more natural option as the soya and oat feed in the top spec may contribute to inflammation. Simple system eclipse is just linseed and rosehips. He is also coughing a lot at the moment t from his hay in the field so inflammation is a thing for him. Any advice greatky received

I feed progressive earth pro joint. It has no fillers thus suitable for inflammation.

I split it and do powder balancer and feed a specific joint supplement on top (currently riaflex complete HA) for the same reason as Equi. I don't want, or need to pay for fillers.

I do have a fussy mare so a powder balancer and a powder joint supp do take some encouraging for her to finish the bucket (compared to the top spec, which she says is delicious) but at least I know whats in the bucket is there for a good reason.
