We made it to the beach!
My first time ever riding a horse of my own on the beach, and my first time cantering outside of the school in a decade. She was
such a super star, didn’t put a foot out of place and I felt so safe. She even stood like a rock and let me catch her buddy who tried to hide behind her after having a paddy about a pavement and decking my poor friend in the car park.
As far as I am concerned, she can be as funny a shape as she wants to be bless her honest little heart.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments about Betty. As you can probably tell, I am very pleased with her!

It really says something about her character if you felt confident enough to take her for a canter along the beach after a decade of just cantering in the arena! ?

It’s actually more like a decade of not cantering at all, after a terrible incident years ago. I only started cantering in the arena when Betty came in April. I feel like I could trust her to take me anywhere. @Lynnfigaro, you are correct when you say that she is worth her weight in gold, can’t put a price on that feeling of safety.
@Archangel, thank you, she is fine. Just a scrapped elbow. Luckily she didn’t have far to fall!
