Since when is Aigle a "luxury brand"?

I recall an article in one of the major newspaper referring to Aigle as a luxury brand earlier this year. I was a little shocked by this. My first ever riding boots (talking about two decades ago, yikes) were from this brand, and I don't recall it having been a big deal, unlike my friend's custom-made Konig leather riding boots!

P.S.: Found the Aigle riding boots last weekend - they are still going strong but obviously no longer fit me :(

Since the non-horsey fashion types claimed it as a "look", along with Hunter wellies and Barbour jackets.

I do laugh when I see young girls posing around town in those quilted Barbour jackets - my Mum had one just the same that she used when out lambing - lasted her for years!

I think I read somewhere (may have been on here) that Hunter no longer class their boots as for working - they are now fashion items! Hence the price increases on all these labels.
