Hi All,

I really really hope there is somebody who can help me with this one!!

I desperately need to order my new car from work (been avoiding it now for about 12 months!) and I am hoping to get something that I can tow a single horse box with if push came to shove. I haven't taken my towing test as up until this point company car has been golf, golf or golf.. so it hasn't been an option, but it would be great to be able to get to the vets if required, or to very local shows safely and legally.

I will go and take my test just so I can learn to reverse without a million attempts!!.. but just from a getting started point of view, it would be best if it could fit under my licence now.. but am open to suggestions if the list of cars that work now is so short its not even a list!

After some advice from the fabulous Rog, I need to get something that comes in under 2100kg to allow 1400kg for my trailer. Can anybody help me with some suggestions. Even if I opt to get something I can only use post towing test, I cannot stretch to a disco sized truck, but a smaller 4X4 would be ok.. maybe something like a CRV? Either way I need an automatic, due to old horse inflicted injury! Would a big estate car work, if the weights were right?

I am pretty useless when it comes to cars, so would be really really grateful if anybody could give me a hand!

Thanks (multiplied by a million if you can help!!)

xx

It's very difficult to work out hence I got a short wheel base Mitsubishi shogan nice compact car can tug 3 tonnes so even with two brutes I need not worry and I have an old one but love it, 51 plate leather air con cruise control very nice
I think it's a dangerous game trying to get something that can "just" manage and I'm not being funny I just find it all so confusing this way I know I'm safe
