Single horse trailers....

We had an ifor Williams trailer. The horse travelled well in it. They have plenty of space, and it was very easy to tow, and contrary to popular belief, very stable.

I have a brand new Ifor Williams 403 and it weighs 767kg empty. It's my second single trailer and I totally love it. Plenty room and tows really well. I had a double but sold it to get a new single.

Do you think they are lightweight..?? Would I get away with towing one with a 575kg (ish) horse in with an estate car..??

check the towing capacity of the car, if its about 1500 kgs then a trailer weighing 800 empty with a horse of 600 = 1400 total so thats ok
Also most single trailers are at least 1400 kgs plated MAM

If not using a 4x4 or 4WD then you will need to be careful what surfaces you will be towing on

B+E licence OK but if intending to do it on a B licence then please state what car and trailer in the HHO TOWING CLINIC thread - link below

I very fond of single trailers. There are five of us with them on our yard.

My friend tows her cob in her 403 with an Octavia Scout.

You can find the specs and weights of some trailers here

Trailers like Cheval Liberte are very lightweight - but I worry about the structural safety in light of recent scandals :(.

I have an Ifor 403 and I love it. Don't know it's there behind our Shogun and also pull it with a lighter Kia Sportage. They weigh 765 kg empty and even with my 600 kg horse on board it's easily towable. The other thing I like is that the stall width is better than in a double which means you can tack up inside it on wet days. The perfect thing for a one-horse owner.
