Hi

I have been having trouble with loss of taste and smell which resulted from an allergy. Not been a visit a doctor type I relented and went to the quacks. They seem to think that after 40 years of mucking out and making hay nets up that the sinus problems are hay/straw related.
Any one else got this ? I bring my horses in at night all year round, I would never give them up and loss of taste does have one advantage looking on the bright side if you cant taste chocolate then you dont eat it. However dont want to think I will never taste it again. Any one else suffer and what treatment did you have.

I suffer with my sinuses every year, even when mine were out in winter, just moving hay around would cause my sinus problems and I am resigned to it being a problem from November to March time.

Mine is definitely better in summer when they are at grass and not getting supplimentary hay

Can't you treat your horse as though he has COPD, and therefore treat yourself?
I am allergic to horses and am on drugs all year round. When I lived in Australia I had acupuncture for my hayfever and it really worked, would definately do it again over here but need to find a recommended acupuncturist first!
