Hello,

I’ve got an older boy, WB who’s the grand age of 26, who is getting a recurring unilateral discharge from one nostril.

He’s had his teeth checked by a veterinary specialist, who previously widened his diastema.
Teeth fine, checked guteral pouches, trachea etc and identified an infection in the sinus. Had a course of antibiotics at the start of May and it all cleared up until today. I’ve tried polleneze as it’s so dry. Discharge is odourless but green?

I don’t know what to do next but also don’t just want to leave it. He’s bright and fine in himself.

Not sure what to do!

Has he had an xray of his head?
Mine had a malocculsion which allowed food to make its way up between the teeth, resulting in chronic sinusitis.

Was only sorted by surgery to remove the 2 offending teeth, and clean out the sinus cavity.

Hello

No he hasn’t had x-rays yet. I’m guessing that’s the next stage. I’m loathe to put such an old boy through surgery too :-( equally I want to get to the bottom of this and sort it for him!

My Charlie Horse had head X rays for this. The vet could not find a reason. It cleared up all by itself while we were procrastinating what to do, after 6 months of trying dentistry, antibiotics etc! I never did find out what the cause was. We had it swabbed and not anything catching.

Hello, oh heck! How old was your boy when this happened just out of interest and was it during the warmer months? I’m sure that this could be pollen/dust related for my boy.
