Sorry, sitfasts are lumps on the horses back. normally hard fibrous skin material that sits under the skin, it occasionally breaks open and weeps. They can be small or up to about an inch in diameter they do not cause the horse pain or discomfort but are unsightly as they are prominent and are accomanied in some cases with hair loss which is the case with my horse. Sometimes known as collagen necrosis i think. They are not the same as saddle sores or girth galls. Vet advice normally is to leave them alone unless the break through the skin, however they look awful and any ideas to help without surgery would be welcome. As an aside they were quite common on working horses many years ago as i remember them in my grandads time on the farm, but i cant remeber how they got rid of them.
