Where in Scotland are you? There's a place in Elgin that does instruction and testing.

I didn't have to do it, but a couple of friends have. If you are competent and can reverse you shouldn't have a problem.

Im just outside Edinburgh. I have phoned a compnay this morning and it will cost about £500 eek, thats for a three day course before is this necessary? Surely you only need to learn abt reversing and hitching it?

Im looking to do mine too, one thing I did find out though is if you do the towing test in an AUTOMATIC...you will only be able to tow with an AUTOMATIC, same as with car driving tests!!!! sorry for caps just trying to make t a bit clear!!

The test is £89 or it was when I sat it last summer.
It's not hard but I agree there is no point sitting it without tuition first. I sat it without a lesson and failed and was told that practically no-one passes without a lesson first. Also the rules of the road are different when you're towing so it's not just the same as driving a car- you take different exit lanes off roundabouts etc.

It was £450 for two full days and the test when I did it last year.
