Size of horse/size of stable

TF, 33" has a 10 x 12 at her disposal :D but its only used for standing in while I'm out riding or for waiting for vet/farrier tho

DF, 15hh also in 10 x 12. In at night from 5.30pm till 6am (work days) or 7am non-work days over the winter. Sometimes out with TF if I'm on a night out tho & the weather is ok to leave out with good rug on* :)

GF, 18hh has a 12 x 12 & still has room for a kip. Spent the tail end of last winter in overnight in it, currently not planing to bring him in this winter unless weather really really horrid, so he's using his like TF does - waiting for farrier/vet & also for tacking up etc.

*DF & TF share a 22 x 11 with centre wall ripped out (was 2 stables) in a small paddock overnight right by the yard :)

I have a 15.1hh and 14hh, their stables are 14x11. They are currently out at the moment, but will start coming in overnight when (and if!) they look like they want to, prob from 5pm till 8am. Will chuck them in an extra haynet around 10pm before i go to bed.

Before i moved, my 15.1 used to be in a 10x10 and in from 5pm-8am. I was unable to give extra hay last thing at night as he was on a DIY yard and he was always a bit grumpy during the winter.

Hopefully things will be different this year!

My lad is in a 16 x 13 and he is 15.1hh he is spoilt as the yard have huge stables turnout everyday from 6.30 til 4 ish maybe earlier sometimes our very kind YO turns out for us.

Stables are 10x12 and used by 13.1 and 14.2 ponies. One in overnight, the other in during the day. Works for us, I wouldn't want go smaller than this. I did prefer them in 12x12 stables at a previous yard.

Horse in sig, 15hh is in a 12x12, it seems massive for him compared to where he last was. I can walk round him and muck out around him.

14.1 chunky Dales, 12.2 Welsh A and 9 hands on tiptoes shetty all in 12x10 stables from 5pm/when it gets dark to 7.30-8am . Must admit that the Shetty is so small in her stable that I've started storing 2xdumpy bags of Miscanthus and a couple of bales of straw along her back wall so that they are to hand when mucking out, but she doesn't seem to mind.

Mine are 12 x 15 feet one is 12 x 19 and two are 8 x 12 and 19 x 12.
Also have tow loose pens which can be run as one these are each 30' x 30' which I use for the youngster and they are up to five in each pen.

The 16.2 warmblood used to be in a 12 x 12 which was perfectly adequate , but meant that there wasn't enough room for him to stretch out in his preferred position . So when we had the new yard built , we had a 16 x 12 corner box put in for him, and now he lays flat on his side and refuses to get up until 8.30 . The 12.2 welshie has a 12 x 12 , which is massive for her . They are in from about 5.30 at night , and go out at around 10am after the morning faffing.
