sizing of Brogini half chaps?

I have just some Shires half chaps in medium, does anyone know how they compare, I want to buy some leather ones for competing, I used the brogini measuring guide, and it said I should be large, but there is no way I am a large?

If you've measured and compared with the sizing chart, then buy the size they advise. They can always be returned.
