I've owned my 8 year old ex racer for nearly a year. I took him to his first proper 'party' a few weeks ago. A pony club showjumping rally, only for an accessment so we went in after everyone else was finished. At home he is very well mannered and easy to do. Well he was a pig to tack up, he nearly fell over backwards rearing and was quite naughty and nappy in the school, but i think it was because he was so overwhelmed by it all.
I'm going to another on Sat and will be in the group this time. As hes 16hh and i'm 20 we're in the big group! It was just greenness really and he didn't really really try to get me off but was being quite difficult. The problem is my Dad worries himself silly and i'd like it to be abit more chilled out this time!
Any advice?! I'm thinking that the more he does as he gets experence the better he will get, fingers crossed!
