Sj - tendon boots

Might sound a bit thick - not up on all these boot thingys, so doing research.

When sj, are you supposed to use open or closed tendon boots?

Open fronted is the norm

It is the norm - but you can use whatever you like

open-fronted are preferred as it is thought the horse can 'feel' it more if he touches a pole, but it is all down to personal choice, you can put on whatever boots you want.

Yep as others have said you can use either but open fronted if preferred as with the close fronted the horses feel less so get less sensitive and are more likely to start knocking poles (coz they dont feel it as they would with open fronted)

check out www.equicare.co.uk have some nice fleece lined gfs ones and the sheepskin is removeable for washing

you can even use bandages if you want to!

My old horse needed the extra support, but he did lose some of the feel, when he hit a pole... x
