Pony went down on the road this morning & took hair off his knees. Its not deep & there was no blood except a little round edge. No sign of lameness, though I did lead him home as he was quite shocked. Have cleaned & put some yellow 'summer cream' on to keep the flies off. Apart from hosing to keep swelling down ( if there is any later) is there a particular cream that works best to prevent white hairs coming back?

Thanks for listening, now I'm going for a chocolate fix to sort out my shock!

Nope. Whether you get white hairs will depend on whether the hair follicles are damaged or not. Cross your fingers.

Thanks Gloi, Deep down I knew that really, but I thought it was worth asking :D. I suspect it will grow back white he has a few nicks from where his field mate had a nip & these are a bit whitish :(

there goes our showing career before we've even started!

Knees are quite tough, I've had a few tumble with me in the past and they've recovered without white hair, (though one had bald patches.) so hopefully yours will.

Get a good dollop of coconut oil on them. Its antibacterial properties will help and it will also aid in healing the skin cells faster.
