I swapped Ella from Chudleys Puppy onto Skinners Field and Trial Puppy after a few raised eyebrows from folk on here. Got to say, that was the best thing i could've done. She's shiny, her coat isn't scurfy, she isn't hyperactive like she was, and her poo looks like poo instead of well... something disturbing.
However, the bag says to feed it up to 6 months of age.. she'll be 6 months on the 5th Feb and is approx 20kg. Shes a big girl! I've just bought another bag that'll see her through to 7 months. But what does anyone suggest after this? Should i just carry on til shes 12 months or will it not be sustaining her? Shes a hungry hungry hippo most of the time but shes greedy so its hard to tell if its hunger or just greed.

Also if anyone has any suggestions as to how i can get her to slow down when she eats. She can smash a whole bowl of food in less than 2 minutes. She doesn't chew it at all.

I think Skinners do a Junior too, you could perhaps put her onto that, and then at 12 months put her on to Field & Trial Duck & Rice. I changed Freya onto D & R at 9 months (prior to that she was on Fish4dogs pupp), although she still has a little Fish4dogs mixed in with it.
With regard to hoovering up her food, try putting some large rocks in her food bowl, if she has to eat round them it should slow her down. However make sure they are big enough so she doesn't try and eat them too.:p

I throw my food out on the lawn for one of my Dobes as she just hoovers, its definately slowed her down and she has to search for each piece. If its pouring with rain I scatter it on the kitchen floor.

Just looked at the Skinners Junior.. it seems to have a lot of cereals in it. Their puppy food seems to be far better quality. What are others views on their other foods? I've heard good things about the Duck and Rice but not much else? Thoughts?

I have my lab on the salmon and rice- he needed low protein so that's the lowest they do without being high in cereals. I kept mine on puppy food until 9 months then swapped to that- but he wasn't massive and it was while talkin to them at a stand that we decided when to swap. I always think 6 months is a bit early but that's just me!
The salmon really suits him- coat lovely, poos good, great weight and easily maintained.

Just had a look, the Junior doesn't come under the Field & Trial banner, so yes your right a lot of cereal. However it says on their website you can feed the F & T puppy until approximately 9 months, so in your shoes I would feed the puppy until 9 months and then gradually move on to either Duck & Rice or Salmon & Rice.
