Am intrigued by the number of people that feed Skinners (and the fact that it seems cheaper than what I feed and times are hard

However as you know Henry was a porker when I got him and so I watch his weight like a hawk, especially as he won't **glares at the belching beachball on the sofa - see earler post!**

Is it better for dogs that worry their weight off or work for a living?

He isn't on a special light food at the moment just a normal pet dog food.

Potential tubby Sweep is on it

- and its is just fine! He has his measureful twice a day and his weight has not gone up! Having said that it hasn't come down either...........

I think it is better for them as it is gluten free - dogs natural diet would not include much gluten/cereal so a lot of the bloating and wind issues also disappear......

Most timely comment about wind as my sister is on the sofa next to Henry and requires a gas mask at the moment! Although he isn't normally too farty - just when he has eaten a three day supply

I don't really want him to lose any more weight, just don't want him to gain any more either. I might have a look and start weaning him onto it when we get close to end of the current bag of his food.

Mine are all nice and slim on it. Just use your judgement and don't slavishly follow their recommended feeding quantities. I actually weighhed what I was giving mine yesterday following the previous post. Evie is having just under the recommended amount for her weight, but she is on the go 24.7 (or so it seems) but the other 2 are on about 250 gms per day. According to the pack they should be on 400g

Whereas I have just weighed out Otto's and he gets 500g as opposed to the 300g recommend, plus all sorts of extra treats (lots of roast chicken tonight

) and is still a skinny runt!

Just goes to show doesn't it that the best guide to feeding is the eye

Should say mine get a little bit of pet mince as well, literally just a couple of tablespoons. Its good stuff, bone crushed in with it, and only 25 p a pound

It's true, Henry doesn't get anywhere near as much as the bag says he should at the moment! It makes you wonder just what the dogs they use to work these quantities out are like...
