Substitute the W in witch for a B..............

Yesterday Fat Lad and Skinny Minnie spent the day in a nearby paddock that hasn't been grazed in a while so is full of grass. Both were happy to go back to their usual field (with field shelter and running water) last night, and we planned to do the same today.

However, SM was being a complete twit. Every time I got the headcollar over her nose she pulled back and ran off squealing. OH got Fat Lad, who was very well behaved (not like him at all!), and OH lead him out of the gate and waited for me to get SM. SM would not be caught and was galloping round like a lunatic, whinnying and squealing with, I assume, excitement.

She slipped over in the mud and whacked her backside on the corner of the field shelter, so I decided to bung Fat Lad back in and leave them where they were.

SM is usually so quiet and well behaved, it was quite a shock to see her being so stupid! I can only assume it was the lush grass yesterday, and the wind this morning combined with excitement. She was quite the lunatic!

She seems fine from her bash on the field shelter, but has left some lovely skid marks in the field.

What I do want to ask is, did I do the right thing to walk away? I wanted to put her in a different field, she played up so I left her where she was. Should I have persevered with her? I was just worried that she was going to hurt herself and/or me if kept trying.

Advice greatfully recieved :)
