Has anyone with an oval head found a good fitting skull?
I much prefere them to hats for day to day stuff but can't find one that fits well :(

Obviously I am going to have new hat fitted and will only buy one both myself and the fitter feel is correct, but the only take shop within a hour travel time only stocks Charles Owen, which do not fit at all :(

I have an oval head. Charles Owen are a horrible fit on me. Champion or gatehouse fit me best. I have a gatehouse hs1 at the minute.

OH has a Champion for his (very) oval head! He says it's pretty comfy although he very, very rarely gets on a horse so it hasn't been tested for any great length of time!

Charles Owen skull caps dug in on my temples.

I tried on a HS1 and a Champion, wore them both round the shop for 15 mins or so each and both were comfy but the HS1 fitted the best.

champion for oval heads like my sister! I have a round heat and and I do not fit many hats oddly... I have a champion ventair padded at the front and back, the JTE fits me better but still lots of padding and I fell off quite bad in it so I don't wear it anymore, at the moment I am wearing a gatehouse skull with my pony's vet cotton wool stuffed in to the rim !!

As far as I know Champion are a better for oval heads and CO for round heads!!!

I have an oval head - Champion etc are far too wide, only Charles Owen fit. I had the goldy coloured skul and that was a good fit :)

Champion is regarded as being more suitable for round heads and CO for more oval but all models vary - I can wear about 3 CO models, though one or two get uncomfy over a long ride, but only one Champion - the Ventair is the first Champion that has gone anywhere near my long oval head.

Strange, I was told the complete opposite - CO for round heads, champions for oval heads as a general rule but obviously it is different for each person.
