does anyone have experience of slab fractures on their horses teeth?
My mare has 3 fractures on her molars, 2 on one side , 1 on other. Had dentist and vet out several times, teeth rasped every three months- edges next to fractured teeth getting sharp. I know you can have the fractured filled but it is done as a last resort? Anyone know anything about it? Or what causes the fractures in the first place?
My horses mouth keeps ulcerating at slightest edge, resulting in not much excercising getting done.

My vet suggested either filling my boys fractured tooth or taking it out. There were no guarantees with either. It was a cheek molar tooth that I eventually decided to have took out as I thought if the tooth was gone then the problems it was causing would go too. Unfortunately that wasnt the case and he still gets the awful discharge from his nostril from time to time.
I suppose any trauma to a tooth can fracture it, maybe a kick or even crunching on a stone???
