I have noticed for a while now that whilst my horse eats, she slavers quite a lot. I haven't had her long (around 3/4 months) and thought she might be due a visit from the dentist. Had him out, he filed down a few sharp ones and told me all was well. But she is still quite wet around the mouth.

Is this normal?

She may just be quite a slavery horse unfortunately lol my friends horse is constantly slavering while eating, being ridden even just grazing in the field. She has been told that this is ok and nothing to worry about. Maybe this is just the same for you ...

It could certainly just be completely normal but I've noticed that my old girl seems to make more saliva now that her teeth are rather past there best-before date and she struggles with long fibre. Mind you, you should see how much she dribbles with pleasure when I'm scratching her itchy bits!
