OK i've got a question which may appear a tad silly to you guys, ive pretty much made my mind up as to how to proceed but i would like your opinions just in case!
My welsh D part bred who is generally forward going has been extremely forward going this last week or so and full of energy. When leaving the yard im not getting much time to allow him to warm before up before he is raring to go.
So Ive noticed on Monday, after his attempt to charge around the lanes, that he is very slightly lame in trot (so much so its no easy to determine which leg it is), this doesnt seem to bother him as he is quite happy to still put his nose to his chest and tank off!
He is a horse that doesnt go lame very often and when he does it mends itself in a few days, there isnt any swelling or heat, he puts his full weight on the leg (we decided its front right) and doesnt object to me touching, pressing etc.
Could i be right in thinking in that with all his recent sillyness he could have sprained it?
Unfortunately he isnt turned out due to the state of our fields, mud so deep he would guarantee to pull something, so he is in which isnt helping the stupid behaviour so he needs to be ridden everyday and now im torn because he slightly lame and dont want to walk him out and make it worse!
I was going to give it another day which would take it to Thursday before i call a vet
Any thoughts would be greatly appreacited
