2 weeks ago Flash cut his right foreleg in the field, only superficial so cleaned it up and gave him a few days off to allow it to heal. Silly horse is always cutting himself so didn't think too much of it, and put the very slight lameness down to the cut by his heel. It has completely healed now, and there is no heat or swelling (that I can detect) in his leg.

Its been cold hosed, he's had 2 weeks off work, but has been turned out so he can walk around and not get stiff, but he's still not right, it's more something you can feel than see and very slight, but after this length of time its starting to worry me and I'm calling the vet out.

Anyone any ideas what it could be to settle me, I'm such a paranoid mum and always think the worst! I'm getting his teeth done and back checked too as I'm worried some of the stiffness could be resistance due to discomfort there, and am not 100% happy about the saddle although it's been checked twice and apparently fine.

I had a similar issue....and my mare is on box rest for a month now as she has soft tissue damage in her foot following a bit of a scrap in her paddock... it all started with a bump on her cannon bone that went away. She is 1/10th lame in trot but its hardly noticeable. No heat, no sensitivity., just slightly unlevel in trot under saddle.

Better to be safe than sorry...

sounds very much like him, he's a bit silly with his legs and caught one on the fence and pulled back, cutting it. Thought it was very likely he'd pulled something doing that!
