Just putting 9 month old lab to bed and felt he has got swollen gland in neck below jaw line. He is fine in himself eating and drinking etc normally. Not off colour not aware of temp change. He has been playing in long grass tonight could it be an allergy like hayfever type thing causing it? Also found him chewing the edge of one of railway sleepers in garden earlier.
I am not going to ring emergency vet but should i take him tomorrow or leave it as likely to be from long grass?

Piriton tonight incase its a sting or bite causing it (horse flies were mental round here today, they were eating everything including the dogs which until this year I have never seen before!) Keep an eye incase its a reaction to something that may get worse overnight. Vets in morning if still swollen.

He is ok today- spoke to vets as still swollen but a bit less. They said as he is fine in himself to keep an eye if worsens then take him in but keep with piriton for 2 days. Seems like must have been a bite after all
