slightly disgusting, any opinions?

in the middle of the night the other night, my 6yr ridgeback threw up what looked to be a sausage. Wasnt a sausage (hadnt eaten anything like that during the day) it was quite dry and about 2cms wide and looked to be made up of grass etc. if he was a cat i would of said it was a furball. Hes done it twice now, and hes always trying to clear his throat...
any suggestions?

I know this may sound gross, but if he has done it more than once I would pop the 'sausage' into a clear plastic bag and take it to your vet for some advice. They may say it's nothing, but rather be safe and check. He may need an investigation as he may be pocketing food in his throat for some reason. Good luck.

Does he eat grass? Maybe it's a congested lump of grass?

My dogs poop sometimes has grass in it. It also sometimes has bits of his cotton sheet from his bed in it!

If your dog eats a small amount it comes out naturally.
Your dog has probably eaten a lot of grass it will go like this.
