Went up the night before with the boys, dropped in at Chatsworth on our way there to ride them round, both went very nicley and left me feeling confident for their dress
Got there in plenty of time on Sat, got on and tootled over to the dressage, Nez did a much better test than Withington apart from cantering his first 10m circle
so was a little
to see he had a 44 score... but he does seam to be a bit like Marmite with dressage judges lol!
Then Jays dressage.... he was a little more tense than he has been so far this season, was quite busy warming up and I didnt seam to be able to find him his own bit of space- he still cant cope with people coming towards him...well, he is still only a babie lol!!
He got really quite nappy when he went over to his arena- funnily back to lorrys- far corner of field not the gate way we came in through...bless him! But we stayed in the arena and he managed his second flying change- he got a 7 for it!! his marks range from 1's to 7's and judges basically say- quietly ridden, shame about tension, good marks will come when settled... so really really thrilled with him- begining of last season he got E at Isleham for pissing off home with me half way through his test and at Aston he climbed backwards out of his arena and back in to the warm up- through the trees and over quite high bords
Any way enough of my rambling and on to Nez's jumping...
we were there with Gamebird before s.j, I also had just about lost the will to live...but pulled my self to gether and went in...he rooted 1, hit 2 had a big napp, jumped 3 hit 4 then took a deep breath and jumped really well, so at least it got better as it went on!! Think it took him a long tme to settle in the arena...so much for him to take in!
Very nearly didnt go x.c as ground was sooooo horrid, but decided I would start and pull up if I felt he wasnt enjoying it. Went very slowly as I really didnt like the sticky ground, he jumped well enough, stopped at the little lion fence for no apprant reason...just said no, can only put it down to ground as he never stops. Jumped it second time, I carryed on with the thought I may pull up after water, but I jumped him home and he was good! Basically pleased with him, he was very neat and clever though all the combination's !
I then walked the 3* x.c even thought there was lots of talk of it being cancled, they had taken half the course out because of the ground, it looked very nice, nothing that worried me but was feeling a little
as we all felt it was going to be off- they had said that as long as it didnt rain that night it would be on...no chance!!!!
So it was cancled....now feeling hugly flat
but on wards and up wards, atleast they are all still in one peice.
