I decided last night my horses were looking a bit cold and miserable and as there was strong wind mixed with rain I chucked rugs on.
Two have thinner rugs already- a 70g and a 100g (which was a bit too warm) the other only has a sheet which when using for warmth isn't great.
Can anyone recommend be a turnout with a little bit of padding? but that's still reasonably tough and well priced please. So far am thinking Premier Equine but wondered what else is about.

I have a Black Eclipse turnout rug with 80g filling which I purchased off eBay for around £50 at the end of last year. Have only used it for a few weeks last winter but seems to be quite hardwearing.

Not a huge fan of Bucas to be honest. I've got a few for my TB and although they never rub his shoulders unlike most rugs I find they slip badly? Might just be him, he's a BIG one for rolling.
Will look at both though thanks

Premier equine and fal do a 40g

Alternatively I have found the high denier rugs like amigo 1200 are a fair bit warmer than standard 600 d

Premier equine and fal do a 40g

I found the Fal 40g to be very warm, almost as warm as my Rambo 200g. I had one for each horse but they really were far too warm for the kind of weather I bought them for so I gave them to a friend of mine who used them as her winter rugs.

It was a while ago but when I posted on here there were a lot of similar responses, so as you say your 100g is a bit too warm I'd be careful about buying the Fal 40g.

Also they weren't that well made at all.

Due to the fact I just found that 40g are on sale at Premier equine Ive gone for one of those!- Rude not to really ;)
ermm, Im tempted to get 2 but that's pushing my account slightly
