Been feeling quite alone at our yard, There is just me and the yard owner, Yard owner does her thing and I do mine, I do like company and before there was 4 others and like I say now there is just the one livery and that livery being me . I tend to always be the one that stays at the yard and watch people come and go ( been at the same yard for over 10 years now ) .

Unfortunately there is no one near to hand that I can hack out with :( ( booo poor me, feel free to join in ) .

Now that it is coming into the winter I crave that motivation that gets me to the yard .

Feel free to post your sob stories and billy no mates experiences .

Can think of anything particuarly useful to say apart from if you have any horsey friends you could persuade to move to your yard. It can be lonely as unfortunately our 4 legged friends cant talk. Having said that, I love hacking out on my own. Livery yards can be a pain when you cant get in the arena, people dont clean up, horses fall out and get injured, people bitch about others. Has that little reminder put you off wanting any other liveries moving onto your yard haha? Do you have a OH who you could get interested in horses and riding and having their own so you can share riding time together?

My close friend moved away in the Summer to live in Wales and took her horses with her. I miss her and going to Dressage with her. We keep in touch and shes coming up at half term to stay but its not the same. Im on a big yard so fortunately have other friends there though its not like it used to be, but its ok.

Well I have a 4 year old so would be great for some company for her as the roads aren't exactly quiet , although my 4 year old isn't too bad on the road but not great either lol ....Fine with company(when she had company lol) .

Never had to fight over the arena lol
Possibly had to clean up after others but I didn't mind ...to a certain extend :p
Madam has got on with other horses absolutely fine :D
Everybody needs alittle bitching in their lives :D
My husband get involved in horses ?? Yeah sure he does :D he pays for everything :D :p hes far too busy working to pay for everything :D :p

I really don't have any other horsey friends :( :( :( The very little ones I do have are too far away .....Damn you rowreach, damn you CaveCanem and I am still waiting on my visit from Mrs GinaB

I told you ..... It's Mrs Billy No Mates your dealing with :o :o

Errrmm.. I know how it feels :L my pony has been a bit of a psycho of late lol (bucks spins etc) and would like another horse to ride out with to settle my horses nerves. But don't think it would be fair to take my grandad's old girl at 32, then again he was considering taking her to the hunt meet the other day LOL ( yes he's crazy! ) so we'll have to see how the weekend goes, it can be so boring being a loner :( hope you find some company :) x

I know how it feels!

Over the summer I can tend to be the only one riding!

Well, since you are now on the "Older" horse, you can come show my new one the ropes ;)

Id much prefer to be on a quiet yard, no stabbering or bitching :p oh it would be heaven!! Sure il come hack with you on my imaginary 20hh shetland horse ;) .... Im horseless for now shhhhhh lol

I know how you feel. My share horse is on a private yard and it's been a year now with rarely anyone to hack out with. I eventually asked the one other person up the road if she would like to hack out (plus she knows the good routes!) But on our first time out, my lad for some reason (think her horse bit his bum) tried to actually kick her horses head in, both hind legs flying and her horse freaking out in the middle of a main road. So now we have no friends again! (by the way he's normally very friendly and has never raised a hoof before) So we are now working on loading issues so that perhaps we can meet other nearby people in local spots for hacks?

Since your girly always sounds good to travel etc could you not ask about, even on here, find out who is within a 30 min drive and meet up with them now and again? If there's a couple of people then even going out once a week or two would probably keep you sane. It would me.
