Some of you may have read my post a couple of weeks ago about my jumping confidence issues - basically, I didn't jump for a long time, and I'm now very nervous about anything other than tiny fences, and jumping from canter.

Our yard had its weekly jumping night last night, I took Dylan in and did a clear round :D we trotted most of it, and it was really tiny, but we got round and I was so pleased :D I've agreed to do it again next week, and am doing the (little) pairs class with my sister.

Only bad note was when I told my dad I'd done a clear round, he said, "Is that all you're doing?", and when I told him it was he said, "Oh, so he's just a hacking pony then?" Gee, thanks Dad. As I've never been interested in competing, I only really wanted a horse for hacking, but clearly that's not good enough ... grr

Still proud of myself (and lovely Dylan) though :) x

woo hoo..... as someone who has been where you are I know just how much it took to do it.

From small beginings and all that...... oh and it may help but sing. It keeps you breathing and is exactly what I was doing on a clear round eventer trial (also jumping from trot!). My current sound track to jumping is nelly the elephant.

I look forward to hearing about next week.

Well done
