Just got up to the dog being sick in the garden. OH had let him out when he got up and iv just looked in the garden and someone has thrown a big bone into the garden which hes started to eat. Iv now taken it away and put it straight in the bin but im not sure whose throw it over?

I never see the people/person next door as we work opposite hours and the people who back onto me iv never seen?

Do you think i should post a note through to both of them asking them not to feed the dog?

You are sure it was thrown over and he hasn't dug it up? If its definitely been thrown I think in your shoes I would try and see the people face to face and explain very politely how harmful it could be to your dog. I always feel it is better face to face than leaving a note, however if you really cannot get to see them then yes write them a note.

I'm sure they'll be fine about it if you manage to get talking to them, they probably don't know any better and think they are being helpful, I had a fit when I discovered the builders had been giving B their custard creams and sandwiches (he is sensitive to wheat) but the poor blokes thought they were 'making friends' and were fine when I asked them to stop and explained why.
