I have always had problem with saddles slipping quite alot. My horse is a heavyweight cob, not much wither and big shoulders that with movement push it back. Can anyone recommend a saddle pad or numnah that can help with this - I had an Albion saddle made to measure. He has since lost a lot of weight which is why I am having my saddle rechecked (they would not do it previously as I had to prove I could keep the weight off him) and it will need altering. Although it should not slip as much once altered I want to try and give it all the help I can but don't want to waste any more money. I have a hunting breasplate but the saddle still slips back.

got the same problem with Flighty. Huge shoulders & no wither, forcing the saddle too far back. we bought a thinline ultra pad. Absolutely no saddle slipping using this.

I use the prolite saddle stay pads, got one spare since selling my mar, they are fab and really keep the saddle in place aswell as being lightweight and not altering the fit of your saddle at all.

Thanks for for replying with those suggestions - I am very grateful. I have made a note of them all and have had a quick look on internet. I can't find details of the thinline ultra pad though. Also I am sure a lady on our yard has a limpet pad so will ask her if I can borrow it tomorrow for my ride out.

Another vote for the Limpet.

Mine is fab and was recommended for my round horse. Saddle slipped by millimetres but it bugged me!

My saddler recommended getting the thinner version as the thicker one can alter the fit of your saddle.
